Kim Heldman is an accomplished author and speaker. Her first book-writing venture was a study guide written for Sybex Books, Inc. titled PMP Project Management Professional Study Guide. This study guide prepares readers to take the Project Management Professional (PMP®) exam conducted by the Project Management Institute (PMI®). This study guide is now in its fifth edition.

In addition to the Study Guide, Kim has also written other books on the topic of project management including CompTIA Project+ Study Guide, Excel 2007 for Project Managers, Project Management JumpStart 2nd Edition (watch for the 3rd edition in early 2011), and Project Manager's Spotlight on Risk Management.

Kim is an excellent speaker who is able to entertain and engage her audiences in the topic at hand and leave them with several word pictures, tips, and hints they can take back and apply immediately to their situation.

 
 
Kim holds a Masters Degree from Regis University. She has been a certified Project Management Professional since 2001 and has over 20 years of experience managing information technology projects. Kim is a Senior IT Director for the state of Colorado and manages the CIO's responsible for IT management, service delivery, and project management for four agencies in the state. Kim also served as the Chief Enterprise Services Officer for the Governor's Office of Information Technology and had an instrumental role in bringing about the consolidation of IT resources at the state of Colorado. This is one of the largest projects ever undertaken at the state. She lives in Lakewood, Colorado with her husband, Bill, three grown children, and two grandchildren.
